Tootsi’s Organic Spelt Bran is ground spelt from whole grain, also known as hulled wheat in some food industries. Spelt Bran is grainier than flour since it retains its germ and bran when milled (salvaging important nutrition). Though slightly grainier in texture, Spelt Bran is still ideal for both baking and cooking applications. Golden brown and nutty spelt adds a light texture and depth of flavor to dough’s and batters. Though different from wheat, spelt is largely compared to it, and can be used in substitution of wheat bran since it is comparable in flavor.
