Tootsi's Saffron Rice is a long-grain, deeply golden-colored rice that is soft and fluffy when cooked. Spiced with turmeric and paprika, Saffron Rice lends South East Asian flair to your dinner table! Delightful on its own, Saffron Rice can also be topped with curries, sauces, sautés, and stews.
Saffron Rice uses a classic 2:1 ratio; 1 part rice, 2 parts water. To begin, soak desired amount in water for up to 30 minutes. Drain and rinse thoroughly. Set rice and water in a deep pan over medium heat. Once up to a simmer, cover, lower heat, and cook for 10 minutes. Turn off heat and allow rice to sit for 5 minutes.
